We are currently expediting our planned migration of the WordPress cluster from Linode to AWS, a move aimed at enhancing service reliability and scalability.
While this migration is happening during working hours and with relatively short notice, please be aware that it has been in the pipeline for some time and has been carefully orchestrated to minimise downtime and possible disruption. That said, this process may result in temporary disruptions to all services related to the WordPress cluster. We appreciate your understanding as we work to improve our services and apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you for your patience and support during this transition.
We estimate that this migration will be completed ahead of close of play on Friday 29th September 2023.
The timeline is as follows;
Wednesday:
Migrating website front ends begins
Thursday:
Migrating website front ends is completed
Migration of the WordPress cluster "back end" begins. (WordPress Dashboard)
Friday:
Migrating WordPress completion
Minimal disruption is expected during these timeframes to the specified services.
Downtime of any service for 30 minutes up to an hour is expected, anything above this would be considered exceptional and we will be actively working to rectify the issue.
This scheduled maintenance affected: WordPress Infrastructure (Admin Server, Web Server(s), Caching Server (Redis), Database Cluster (Galera), Load Balancers, Elasticsearch Cluster), The Courier (Websites), The Press and Journal (Websites), The Sunday Post (Websites), Magazines (Websites), Energy Voice (Websites), and Websites, Websites.
